“Like” this link and save 101 square feet of rainforest!

 This was the first post which received 257 “Fshares” to prove the concept. It was a simple test using Typepad just to see if it would work and it did so here we are.

What’s that you say? How can you save 101 square feet of rainforest just by “Liking” a link? We’re glad you asked!

“Like it for Good” is an entirely new concept. We hope to take people’s passion for social media and their desire to do good in this world, and turn it into a force for change. For this first post, we’ll donate 101 square feet of rainforest for every person who Likes or F-Shares it by June 2nd. (up to 100,000 square feet of rainforest!).

We’ll do this by making a donation to Rainforest 2 Reef in the amount necessary to buy and protect, forever, the rainforest saved through this post. If we get ten Likes, we’ll save 1,010 square feet of rainforest, if we get 1,000 Likes we’ll save 101,000 square feet of rainforest, if we get 10,000 Likes….well, you get the idea!

If this works out (and we’re hoping it will) our goal is to do one post per week, giving you the opportunity to do things like donate food to the hungry, provide malaria preventing mosquito nets to sleeping mothers and their children, offset carbon dioxide emissions, and a whole lot more. All for free. Just by Liking posts.

In the future (once again, if this works) we hope to have a sponsor for eachLike it for Good post who will actually pay for the donations (we’re just doing this little experiment out of pocket).
